From the minute I first read Virals I was hooked on this series, so when I saw Swipe on netgalley I had to request it, and I waited, and waited, and waited some more, and finally got accepted last week.

The Virals are attending a Comic-Con thanks to Tory's aunt, Tempe. While there they are involved in a replica of Terminator being stolen. Tempe and the Virals are soon on the job, with Tory taking a bigger lead than the Virals at first. I loved the opening of the book, the chaos and madness of the Comic-Con, and actually laughed at the costumes some of the guy wore.

Swipe was a quick read but doesn't lack for anything and definitly keeps you wanting more. I liked seeing the Virals putting the clues together to try to solve the mystery, and while it takes them a while they do eventually flare and use their powers to aid them. I really wanted them to flare sooner than they did, but only because I like how advanced they become and the detail that goes into what they see and hear.

The characters in Swipe are just as I remember them to be, funny, serious, loveable, and a great team. I love the chemistry they have with each other, and also the bubbling chemistry between Tory and Ben that I really want to see something happen between them. I'm glad I have Exposure waiting to be read as finishing Swipe has made me realise how much I love this series.

Loved this book, but I'm not sure that this book fits in the timeline as 3.5, since Tory's getting along fine with Ben in this book, but I don't know if it's before Code or after Exposure! Loved the mystery! Really great read!

Not enough viral action, but I do like this pack a lot.

A quick adventure at Comic-Con with the Virals. A showcase display is found broken into and a large robot stolen. The Virals jump in to try to track it down. A fun interlude, although I do question how anyone can manage to move quickly in the convention halls, as it was pretty hectic when I was there in 2007.

Comic-con, Virals, a poor excuse for a thief and some good old-fashioned fistfights. What more do I need?

Honestly, I was a little disappointed by this. Had this plotline appeared in a Virals novel, I feel it would have been 1 (maybe 2) chapters long, and yet here it is dragged out into a full novella. Furthermore, it took until a good 2/3rds in that the Virals actually referenced or used their powers at all. Rather than a small little side-adventure, the novella just felt like a spewed storyline to promote the next Virals book and earn a little money. It added nothing to the universe, and could have been anything .5, not necessarily #3.5. Reichs' writing was, however, as great as ever.

A fun little mystery featuring our favorite Pack at Comic-Com to tide me over until [b:Exposure|674393|Exposure|Susan Andersen|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1379577536s/674393.jpg|1170727]! I enjoyed the crossover with Tory's aunt, Tempe, as well as the various shenanigans the kids got up to. As always, I found myself wishing for more Tory/Ben interaction, but the interaction with Hi was fun, too. :)

The Virals are back in this short story, perfect for fans of both this series and cute enough to entertain Tempe Brennan fans too. When Tory and the gang join Tempe at Comic-Con, the fun spikes as everyone is in their element (and very revealing costumes). When the T-800 aka the Terminator, is stolen from its exhibit, Tory and Tempe begin investigating, using their forensic experience. With little on which to go, they put their heads together and the story moves towards the Virals and their sleuthing abilities. With a ransom for the Terminator, finding it before the deadline is only the first part of the equation. Figuring out who is behind this is tantamount, to ensure this doesn't happen again.

While not a regular fan of YA, I have taken to the Reichs team writing of the Viral series. This short story does not show the full Viral experience, but it does keep fans interested. The story and sleuthing does mirror a Scooby-Doo episode (which is actually mentioned in the story) and while it might seem a little corny, does have an entertaining factor to it and keeps a quick pace. Perhaps a good early afternoon read, a little longer than a coffee break read, but well worth the invested time.

Great work Dr. and Mr Reichs. I am eager to see what you have in store for your next full-length novel in the Spring.
