My first book that's not part of a series. It is graphic, horrific, and violent, as most thrillers by KS tend to be. She's excellent when it comes to writing about violence against woman and terrible cops. Her books are not for the faint, but they always payoff in the end. I listened to the audio and it is 18 hrs long. You get to listen to the retelling of the same horrific events twice, the first telling and then what really happened in full graphic detail. My only complaint was that it was so long. Overall its a really good book.

Karin Slaughter has a way of writing heart-wrenching, anxiety inducing, stomach churning thrillers that not only keep you on the edge of your seat but empower you at the end.
