This book started out so well, I was really enjoying it, and then it took a steep downturn đ.Â
This whole book is major miscommunication trope the whole way through and it gets really frustrating to understand the characters actions the longer it goes on.Â
Anna seems to think everything is always about her and although the way St Clair treats her wasnât always fair, she still acted like a child and made some serious mistakes of her own.
Honestly, I think I still would have enjoyed the book more had it not been for the fact thatÂ
Itâs too bad cause I initially really liked these characters and was rooting for them but it really put a damper on the ending for me.Â

Spoiler
they were cheating on Ellie the whole time basically. St Clair straight up says to Anna at the end that he was emotionally cheating on Ellie the entire school year because he just wanted to be with Anna. Why didnât you just break up with Ellie if things werenât right anyways?! Itâs not like he didnât have other people to support him with his âlonelyâ excuse. I donât care if things were not going well with Ellie, or if they never technically got together until after, to me having mutual feelings for someone else, spending all your time with them, and sleeping in the same bed together (even if nothing really happened) while everyone else is away is cheating.Itâs too bad cause I initially really liked these characters and was rooting for them but it really put a damper on the ending for me.Â
