Relationships with mothers are difficult complex and overworked, the ideology of the mother is somewhat shameful when I recount all the things I expect from one. This book gave room to express those feelings and connect with similar stories to mine.

10/10!!! I love short stories. Every author divulged their stories in such a personal manner, will be gifting this to my sister!

Loved this one! Through 15 diverse essays, this book explored the beautiful and often complex relationships children have with their mothers and how this evolves (for better or worse) into adulthood. I resonated with parts of quite a few of these essays. My favourite essay was the one written by one of my favourite Sri Lankan authors, Nayomi Munaweera.
