Transmogrify! is a captivating collection of stories that brings a fresh perspective to the fantasy genre. The anthology features a wide range of trans and non-binary characters, which I found to be both empowering and wonderfully diverse. Each story had its own unique twist on magic and transformation, and the variety of styles and voices kept me engaged throughout the book.

What I really enjoyed was how the book balanced action, heartfelt moments, and meaningful representation. It felt like a celebration of identity through the lens of magical realism, giving each character their own space to explore who they are.

Overall, Transmogrify! was a good read, offering a range of imaginative and inspiring stories. It’s a fantastic collection for anyone who loves fantasy and wants to see more diverse and inclusive narratives in the genre.

this book made me realize that i think i hate short story collections. it takes me so long to buy into a lot of fantasy and something about short story pacing that makes my brain completely check out and that made reading this excruciating (i also forgot to take my adhd meds today).

favorite stories were origin story, verity, and the hallow king!
