Heather Morris is quickly becoming one of my favourite historical fiction writers. This is another amazing story of survivors and everything they lived thru at the concentration camps. What it makes this book different is that half the book is AFTER the war is finally over. It exposes you to the guilt some survivors experienced for simply surviving or not having suffered as much as others. It also depicts how difficult life was even after the war was over. This is definitely a great book to read by any historical fiction lover. I would strongly recommend reading the letters by Livi and some family members at the end of the novel. It gives you a glimpse of how the book came about and the extensive research that went into portraying this book as close to history as possible.

An amazing story, well done Heather Morris!

I go through phases where I don’t read as much and unfortunately it happened during this book. I did however read the main body.

An inspiring read, but some parts to me were slow going.
