Not my usual read, but I enjoyed it much more than I have other realistic fiction coming of age stories.
The characters were loveable, the story was entertaining, and the switching between the past and future was very fluid.
Going into this book I wasn't sure what to expect, and I'm glad I gave it a shot!

I was expecting a fun and spooky story in the style of Goosebumps. Instead, it's a memoir-style story with charming prose and a cast of unlikely relationships that feel like your own friends by the end. A haunting examination of growing up and grief.

This book was slow to build, but really delivered by its conclusion. It juxtaposes childhood and adulthood in a way that reveals so much to the reader. I finished the book feeling nostalgic for my childhood worries and fears. Explores themes of memory, loss, maturation, friendship and first love. A really wonderful read!

This wasn't much like what I expected so I was a bit disappointed, and I also felt like the pacing and plot structure could have been better, but other than those things, this book is alright.

Don't go into this thinking it's gonna be scary or very plot driven, it's more of a reflective character driven story.
