The plot twist is the must be the most ridiculous thing I've read in a while. The rest of the book was okay but nothing I would recommend reading.

Compelling prose, I was hooked and couldn’t put down. Ultimately it fell flat for me with the rapid ending and caricature-esque two dimensional take of Blackness.

Overall I thought the book was good and I liked the story, the writing and the characters. However, I have to say that I was confused at the beginning of the book because I was totally expecting something different. If you read the summary, it should be an office story compared to The Devil wears Prada. But that's not the case. It turns out pretty quickly that it's more of a thriller and that the comparison to the movie Get Out would be more realistic.

In addition, you read for a very long time and wait for the plot twist, only to find out in the last pages what the big secret is. The story ends very abruptly and we as readers would love to know more about the characters and their future. So the book almost screams for a sequel.
