This book was stinkin' cute! I loved the illustrations, the humor and just the entire book! It ended just a little too abruptly for my taste. But I really loved this one!

Peg and Cat are going to have a picnic with Pig. However, 100 chickens get out of the coop, which obviously is a big problem. Peg and Cat and Pig work together to come up with a solution.
Lots of math, cute pictures. Kids will enjoy it.

7 year old daughter thinks this book is hysterical and is reading it over and over and over every night. I love the subtle math sprinkled throughout the book and the 'Thanks' at the end of the book is as entertaining as the book.

Put a chicken on the cover and it is bound to be funny. Yup! This one made me laugh out loud.

Favorite line:

Peg: I am totally freaking out!

followed by - "When Cat saw Peg freaking out, he held up his hands to get her to calm down."

I can't wait for this one to come out.

Everyone wants to have a nice piece of pie. Peg loved solving puzzles so when she had one very small piece of pie left over, the cat helped solve the problem. But they accidentally let all 100 chickens out of the coop. Now Peg has to solve the puzzle to collect them all. This book is nicely illustrated, but I’ve seen better books about problem solving. I do like how they use a simple math equation for the page number.

This is an adorable book which uses chickens and a little girl's desire to equally (kinda) share pie with her farm friends to spread some math around. Lots cute chickens to count along the way. I do wonder why only the ONE tiny chicken is selected for pie-sharing while all the others get pushed back into the cage to sleep but the aspect of sharing is still there at least!

I adore this book! What seems to be a simple story about a picnic spoiled by 100 escaped chicks is actually a tale that subtly exposes a young reader to math in everyday settings. The illustrations appear to be drawn on graph paper and even the page numbers are addition problems. Added bonus? A nod to *mindfulness* when the main character, Peg, takes a deep breath and counts down from 5 when she is overwhelmed due to all the fowl.
