How do I start? This book is definitely, definitely something that you need to set aside time to read. If you finish it, you will not regret it. It's the best book I have read. The world building is unrivaled, the characters are very complex and you will be astounded by the sheer enormity of the world that Tolkien created. I recommend.

5/5 Stars (%100/100)

Before we start: This is my 20th time reading this book (8th time reading this edition).

From the moment I've read it, The Silmarillion has always been my favorite book of all time. This is why I try to read it as many times as possible so as not to forget certain things. I think the most beautiful thing about the book is that every time you read it, you learn something new or find a detail you missed before. This is a great book for Tolkien fans if you liked LoTR and The Hobbit. The book can be considered to be chronological but since there are so many characters, places, and events it talks about the most important ones. If you are still hungry for more, you can continue with Unfinished Tales, The Children of Hurin, Beren and Luthien, and finally The Fall of Gondolin.

My favorite chapters in the books:
-Of the Beginning of Days
-Of Fëanor and the Unchaining of Melkor
-Of Beren and Lúthien
-Of Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin

Overall, I think this is a brilliant book and worth every second of your time even though it is a bit challenging at first.
