Sharp, bitter, frigid landscape of poetry.

Very airy writing style, detailed imagery and I really appreciated the poems in Inuit (even though I don't speak the language) and then seeing how differently they read in English. I felt like her writing is meant more to be atmospheric than precise, so I couldn't really pinpoint too much of a common theme or cohesiveness in the collection. Not entirely my thing but I still admired her craft.

Picked this up in Halifax, didn't entirely relate to the poems (often didn't know what was going on).
I liked "The Straits" which ends
"in the city//one finds it simple to conceive nothing/but a system, and nothing but a world of men" (p.44)

I was a little disappointed in this collection. The writing was gorgeous, but I could not pick up the thread of a theme or story or anything. I could not tell you what this book of poetry was actually about.
