I liked this book a lot more than I expected I would, after the first few chapters. The writing is very juvenile, which took me some time to get over, but I loved the characters and the werewolf lore of this story. There were portions of the book that I found really uncomfortable -- such as the initial "courting" scenes between Gabriel and Vivien -- but overall I really, really liked it. (I was especially into the mating aspects of the pack, and the roughness and the biting and the intensity of the sexual tension between them. This book is very, very suggestive and I love, love, love that.)

The movie was better. And it's not even that good of a movie. But for the majority of the book I hated Vivian and all the characters. The end was okay, not great, it did take an unexpected turn, but I just really wanted to like this and I almost DNF it.

I loved this books when I was in highschool. reading it again I realise that it is not my cup of tea any more. Vivian is not the kind of heroine that I like. she is to perfect.
its a good read and an interesting story.

This book read really quickly and I don't just mean the length. It skipped time and development so I felt like nothing was happening even though it technically was. It's framed as a Romeo and Juliet trope but the love between Vivian and Aiden felt unsubstantial. There are lots of characters mentioned but you don't feel attached to any of them.
To be fair, I watched the movie first. It is one of my favorite movies. But the book is so different, I don't even know how the movie came about. The only similarities are the character names and the fact that they are loup-garou.
I was pretty disappointed. But the book, if viewed separate from the movie, is alright.

"The Person who sees a pentagram in his palm becomes a werewolf's victim." love this novel so much better than the movie. Vivian Gandillon is stuck in between two worlds, at sixteen she is beautiful and strong and all the male wovles want her. But Vivian wants a normal life, but for a werewolf what is normal? She falls in love with a human named Aiden who is fascinated by magic and she longs to reveal herself to him. What is she really- human or beast? which taste sweeter blood or chocolate? I really loved this book and I would recommend this book to anyone. I would say read the book before you watch the movie, the book is so much better. but isnt that always the case.

Liest sich flüssig weg, die Handlung hat mich durchaus überrascht, aber sehr sexistisch, die Prota wird mehrfach sexuell bedrängt. :(
