Oh my gosh. I don't even have words for how amazing this was. Book coma.
Odio este libro.En serio, lo odio. Destruye todo lo que se había venido construyendo en los dos anteriores. Asi que no esperen una "reseña", esto es un desahogo.
Me imagino a Han y Siobhan ideando esta serie y pensando: "Vamos a crear estos personajes, hacemos que todos se encariñen con ellos y luego los destruimos". Pues déjenme decirles no sólo han destruido a los personajes, me han destruido a mí.
Y me niego a aceptar ese final. ¡Ese epílogo! No pueden venir y formar lentamente una relación entre Cho y Reeve a lo largo de tres libros, y luego destruirla en tres páginas. No pueden hacer que Reeve diga cosas como estas:
Y luego en la última página hacerme creer que ella siempre estuvo destinada a estar con Alex.
Sobre todo, no pueden mostrar un Reeve arrepentido de sus errores y lleno de cualidades redimibles y luego pretender que los lectores tenemos que aceptar que su vida se convierta en su peor pesadilla. Entiendo que de cierta forma el que no termine con Lillia es necesario para darle potencia al mensaje final, para decirle a las chicas: "Hey, tú que estas pensando en suicidarte porque no imaginas tu vida sin ese chico, no lo hagas. Hay más vida. Hay más amores que el primer amor". Un muy buen mensaje, si me preguntan. Pero para eso NO ERA NECESARIO DESTRUIR A REEVE. Fácilmente pudieron haberlo dejado hasta donde dicen que va a la universidad, por qué añadir que sufre una lesión y tiene que convertirse en lo que siempre había temido: su padre.
Y ¿por qué Cho y Alex son los únicos que obtienen un final feliz? ¿Cuál es el mensaje que querían transmitir? ¿Qué los ricos siempre terminan con otro rico, y son felices por siempre mientras los pobres sin importar las cualidades que tengan siempre salen perdiendo? ¿Por qué hacer que Kat pierda a su perro, la universidad de sus sueños y a su padre? ¡¿Qué demonios estaban pensando cuando escribieron esto?!
No todos los finales tienen que ser felices, pero para este no había ninguna necesidad. No hay ninguna justificación.
Estoy tan triste, molesta y decepcionada con el desenlace de esta serie. Desearía no haber leído este libro nunca y simplemente haber vivido en feliz complacencia con el final del segundo.

The writing in this book is insanely compelling. It's easy to read, and kept me turning pages. But if an author doesn't know how to write a good ending to a series, it ruins the whole thing. The ending was abrupt, but even worse, the epilogue was written for a different book. Seriously, it didn't match this book at all. I mean, the names of the characters were the same, but characterization and everything that had happened in the previous three books was just thrown out the window. That's not good writing.

I don't know how to feel about this book. Most of the book was very good, and there was also some more scary parts that I liked a lot. This book kept me on the edge most of the time. But, I did not like the ending. It felt a bit rushed, and I had hoped for some more mind blowing ending that would leave me speechless. Maybe I had some high expectations, but still. I was not a fan of the epilogue. It was not necessary, and it ruined the book a bit for me. I also felt like we didn't get enough chapters from Mary. I felt like her chapters were the most interesting ones in this book.
Sped through the final installment of the Burn to Burn series, but I have mixed feelings about the ending.
Not sure what to say about this. I was SUPER psyched to see how things finally shake out between these three ladies and their revengey plans. Mid-book 2, they sort of gave up on the idea of Revenge, but then with the whole Rennie thing and the Mary reveal, we have ourselves a new (and extremely scary) villain.
So I *liked* it, but there's an epilogue that wraps things up in a way I'm not super a fan of. I don't need to know what these crazy teens do post-college, and while it makes sense to me as a grown-up, I'd rather it all end with the book equivalent of a dance montage, not real-life grown-up facts.
THAT SAID, Jenny Han writes the best descriptions of foods and desserts (assuming she wrote the Lillia scenes, where all the food action is, because there's also great food porn in Han's other books), and Siobhan Vivian writes sassy Kat super-well, and the trilogy is great fun. Wouldn't be surprised to see this pop up on The CW as a PLL-meets-GG new TV series. Which would hopefully have a slightly different ending.
