Oh my Marx! Where do I even begin with Pretty Reckless?
Daria Followhill is Queen Bee of All Saints High. She owns the school. She will walk all over anyone and everyone in her stilettos and not even think twice about it. Penn is from the wrong side of the tracks. Star football player for the rivaling team- and now living across the hall from Daria. She took the only thing he loved away, and now he's come to collect. Who will come out on top?
I loved every crazy second of this book. The teenage angst. The backstabbing, the mean girls, the banter. Every. Single. Thing. This book was an enemies to lovers, foster brother, slow burn, wrong side of the tracks, bad boy romance. The angst, and drama at an all time high. We finally get a look into the totholes lives- the second generation of hotholes- and what has become of their parents whom we fell in love with. And the totholes? They are giving their parents a run for their money. And as much as I didn't think I would like Daria- I was proven so very wrong. I felt for her. Yeah, she was the Queen Bee, but there was so much more to her. And of course, I fell for Penn- hard. But I haven't met an a-hole that LJ has written yet that I didn't love. I cannot wait to read more of the totholes- and fall in love all over again and again with these characters that have my heart completely. If you love angst and teen drama, if you love slow burn, and bad boys, if you love aholes and forbidden romances then you need to read this book. Think of the hotholes- 2.0 versions. 5 oh my Marx⭐ out of 5⭐.

Penn fn’ Scully!

Another great read from the amazing L.J. Shen. Penn and Daria will easily become your favorite couple. You love to hate her and her bratty ways, while swooning over the sex appeal dripping from Penn. the story keeps you entertained from page one. I had one set of expectations and this book far exceeded those. Once you start piecing things together and have your ah-ha moment, it makes for the best story.

Can’t wait for Knight’s story!

I enjoyed the book, but there were a lot of things in the book that drove me nuts. First off, all these high schoolers seemed WAY too mature to me. Not in their behavior, but by their actions, inner dialogue, etc. I loved the flawed character of Penn, but Daria really annoyed me. She's a horrible person and I honestly don't think she ever really redeemed herself. Had her secrets never been revealed I think she'd still be a horrible human being. She was also carrying a MAJOR chip on her shoulder for one act she committed when she was 14. Girl, we all make mistakes and do stupid things, let it go. Some of the side storylines were really....wtf. This book is the first in the series so I assume the other books will delve deeper in to these other characters and storylines, but I don't really care to keep reading. The book was good and held my attention, but I didn't really care about any of the minor characters. I plan to read the novella that goes in to Daria's mom's relationship with her husband because that was a serious...wtf. Why she's not in jail is beyond me. Overall I would give this book a solid B. Enjoyable but forgettable.
