Unsure if this one was better than the first one but by golly did I adore that ending. Twas a little rushed but tis a short book so this is to be expected. Worth it though.

“Worlds could be changed when we chose not to walk into a room operating as if everyone was our enemy.”

This book was amazing I loved it! It was impossible to put it down. I loved Hollis and Etan so much! The twist in this doesn't surprised me but I didn't mind that.
I know so many people didn't liked the first book but they need to read this one.
I absolutely love Kiera Cass books they never disappoint me I love them all so much!

Nearly DNF’ed at 7% but I slogged through. I find the main character insipid and shallow- I can’t stand her.

I feel like this is the stronger book in the duology. Hollis really has grown into her character and the real main story (to me) finally started. It felt like The Betrothed was really just a set up for The Betrayed.

Hmm, this was just so flat. If Cass wanted to really sell the mourning widow and new love, the book needed more. She was so 1 dimensional.
