Hamish solves the death of a very ungentle Mrs. Gentle. And Hamish is almost killed at least 3 times.

For my final days of FUNemployment, I joined Hamish Macbeth as he solved murders in the Scottish highlands. Though MC Beaton's novels aren't "high literature," they make for fabulously escapist reads.

Didn't enjoy this as much as the other Macbeth books but I think it was down the character of Mrs Gentle and her family rather than anything else.
