Loved this book! Thrillers are my favourite genre and I’d read so many good reviews about The One that I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype...but it really was a great book. The story is told from the perspective of 5 different people who’ve been “matched” and follows what happens to them as a result!

I always enjoy a story that is told in multiple points of view, so I liked the five different stories that were told in this book. I thought that the story building was fantastic and somehow very unique. While the idea of a DNA match has been used many times I think that Marrs managed to turn the troupe into something special. I will admit, I was shocked when I began reading, it was not at all what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot. Many times I found myself on the edge of my seat, needing to know what happens in a certain storyline. Not only was the plot well thought out, but the ending of a couple storylines left me in utter shock. However, with the other three story lines, I thought they their endings were pretty predictable from the start. You could just tell what was going to happen, which made certain chapters hard to push through. Aside from that, I enjoyed the characters and the interesting world building. Definitely a fun and quick read!

although it sounds like it could be a romance, this book was a wild thriller/mystery with 5 different POVs/storylines and each one of them was so interesting. some things were a little predictable but overall the book was a page-turner and the only thing i didn’t like was that you had to wait four more chapters to find out what happens next in one storyline

Absolute belter of a book from Mr Marrs!
So many characters which would normally confuse me, but these were so clearly defined that it was easy to distinguish and follow all the different storylines.
Loved it!

Interesting premise, some surprising twists. A lot of characters - a bit confusing some times.

I thoroughly enjoyed and loved reading this book. From the moment I picked it up, it was difficult to put down. There were so many dark thrills, plot twists, and unforeseen events that I eventually found myself playing the 'ok just one more chapter' game before bed. I cant even begin to count the number of times I audibly gasped or almost threw my ipad across the room lol!

One thing I loved about this was how the author brought such a modern concept to the thriller genre. One that just so happens to encompass my favorite topic btw, L-O-V-E. I think the fact that something like this could very well happen in the future added to the creepiness and thrill aspect of the book. I also enjoyed how the story was being told through the POV of 5 different recently matched couples. At times, I did find it difficult to remember who was who - but I think the author did an exceptional job of reorienting the reader before each chapter.

I will definitely be recommending this to people - especially those who are wanting to get into thrillers!
