I wanted to like this book more. I really liked the female lead, Stephanie. I really felt like she was a good person who deserved to find happiness. But I found myself not liking Branson as much as I thought I would. His relationship with Stephanie developed nicely, but there were things that he would say that I'm guessing were supposed to be more romantic, but they just sounded sad to me. It was sad that he just never felt good enough, no matter what Stephanie would say. He is a very traumatized person, so his reaction made sense. But even in the epilogue, it made me more sad than swoon when he would say things about how undeserving he is. Also his father was a ridiculously evil villain. Like to impregnate your son's fiancee just to hurt your son because he's more successful than you is just diabolical and unhinged like why???? Anyways, it wasn't a bad book, I think I just had higher hopes for it

Not really a book that I'll read again, it's a bit overfilled with kisses but I read it as research for a story and found useful information for the story idea.

I’m a sucker for blind hero’s and this was a good one. Well written with a great heroine.

This is the first in a new series by the author. Though it is a “clean” romance, it doesn’t not have the spiritual component of other Dearen novels. It is still a good read. The characters are relatable and I like that “bad” characters can change.
