This does wander a bit - and is very frothy and frivolous - but I loved it. My favorite parts were when the adult narrator would insert a paragraph telling you what happened in the future to a particular character - and then snap right back to the 14-year-old narrative voice. It really gave it a lot of depth, for me.

a great y2k period piece. reminded me if a more realistic, high school version of The Clique.

Someone who was in a reading slump recommended this book to get out of a slump. It didn't work for me . It wasn't what I expected. In the words of Taylor Swift, "everything comes out teenage petulance."

Reminded me of high school in the 00s and all the questionable stuff I did. I turned out ok and think the author did too.

A pop-culture indulgence from the early 2000s, with five girls named Brittany coming of age in their high school years. It's strength is in the nostalgia, rather than the plot or character development. That said, anyone who is looking for a trip down memory lane is likely to find this an engaging read.
