This does wander a bit - and is very frothy and frivolous - but I loved it. My favorite parts were when the adult narrator would insert a paragraph telling you what happened in the future to a particular character - and then snap right back to the 14-year-old narrative voice. It really gave it a lot of depth, for me.

Someone who was in a reading slump recommended this book to get out of a slump. It didn't work for me . It wasn't what I expected. In the words of Taylor Swift, "everything comes out teenage petulance."

It's strength is in the nostalgia, rather than the plot or character development. That said, anyone who is looking for a trip down memory lane is likely to find this an engaging read.
