An entertaining read featuring some really interesting premises and a collaboration with another trilogy happening at the same time.
The author could spin almost anything into a tale, but the overly eloquent descriptions sometimes threw the pacing off for me.

A fantastic finish to a magical trilogy. This third book sees off the set with more of what the other 2 books gave, more magic, more heroics, more character progression and more heart.
Jalan truly grew as a character throughout this book, and many of the mysteries I had previously were now answered. A great end to the Red Queens War, a trilogy I would highly recommend.

3.75. I liked the first half a lot. I've never managed to be interested in Snorri, so I always prefer the parts in the books without him. I want to know more about the Red Queen's sister, and what happened in the past. I like the idea of science mixing with mythology in the way described, but at the end I realised it just felt a bit off to me,t he way everything came together. Interesting, but not quite right.

I thought it was good, but I dont know hy I thought something was missing. It was worth the read, but I was hoping for something better because of how much I loved the first book.

I may have gone too long between the first book and this one, but Jal had worn thin by the end of this one. I'm glad to see the tale wrapped up in a somewhat satisfactory way, but it was almost too neat and tidy.
The science talk and explanation of magic in this one left me with a bit of a headache, too, and I don't think I carried anything away with me.

Graphic: Death, Gore, Blood, Fire/Fire injury, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Alcoholism and Death of parent

Maybe my favorite book Mark has written? I'm in a desperate need for a reread of The Broken Empire trilogy, but that will be on hold for a bit. Osheim is a fitting conclusion to the Jal and Snorri's story, bringing everything I wanted since the first book to reality here. Maybe the Wheel helped with that...
