Neil Gaiman knows how to make your uneasiness grow higher and higher even if you are a young man in the middle of a party full of girls. Neil is the master of this growing uneasiness (see Coraline for instance. What would be more comfy than being stuck in a house with loving parents? go and ask Coraline and you'll see!).
So, in this ebook, Vic and Enn end up at a different party they intended to go in the first place and there they discover that girls are far more different from what they first thought they were. Enn talks to a few and observes Vic from the distance as he gets closer to Stella. His memories of an incident that happened a long time ago are poignant and fun at the same time.
This free short story ebook comes with the first chapters of the new Gaiman's novel The Ocean at the End of the Lane and what a treat that is! I am already hooked :)

This VERY short story read a bit like an odd Twilight Zone episode.
This was a very odd sort of sci-fi story that leaves the reader to wondering what they just experienced.
I feel like this would have been more enjoyable if it was a tad bit longer.
