Zombie Penpal was just okay. I didn't like that the author used Hurricane Katrina, Louisiana, and Voodoo as tropes. I mean it's for kids but I wasn't feeling it. It felt racist to me.

It took five tries to get an ending that I was happy with. The story is engaging and fun. It would have been a four star rating, but there were some inconsistencies that were confusing and made me go back and reread thinking I had missed some info, but I didn’t.

I loved these as a kid. Either the quality has gone downhill, or they just aren't as amusing as an adult.
