*****I received an advanced copy of this title from an awesome friend*****

True rating: 3.6 Stars

I enjoyed reading the story, but I was jolted from the fantasy at times with clunky dialogue and randomly mentioned magical creatures. Both Seth and Kendra are continuing to grow as characters and I wonder what future roles their cousins will play in the series. I wonder if Seth will continue to run into situations where magical creatures choose to spare his life /s. I mean, that was becoming a somewhat annoying theme. "Oh, I could have killed you but chose not to." Oh magical creatures, aren't you so merciful! :)

Wow! This was unspeakably good. Read this and if you haven’t read Fablehaven yet, read that first and then this. So fast paced and full of adventure.

It's so good to step back inside the world of Fablehaven, which is why I can forgive how repetitive the book is from the first series. Perhaps also if I weren't reading them one right after the other then the similarities wouldn't stand out so much. First book of Fablehaven was a pretty simple plot - one quest, world building and new characters, but this is the sequel series and only two new characters were truly being introduced so why stick to such a simple plot?
Spoiler Why? Why must the boy be obnoxious and foolhardy while the girl is sweet and innocent and lovable? Why repeat those gender stereotypes?

Honestly, I was hoping for more. The development was so good by the end of Fablehaven that I was hoping we'd stay at that level of writing. We were also hoping for a series wherein the dragons aren't the antagonists but that's not going to be the case here. At least, not so far.

But I didn't love the first book of Fablehaven either so I'm willing to stick with it in order to stay in the realm.

I loved this new addition to the world of Fablehaven! Dragons wanting to break out of their sanctuaries. Kendra and Seth taking on new responsibilities. Crazy adventures and risks taken. I can't believe I have to wait for the next FOUR books in this series!!

I didn't like this as much as the original Fablehaven series. Seems to be more of the same, I would loved to have seen some of the story written from the dragons perspective.

I knew I was gonna love this series because I loved Fablehaven so much and this book DELIVERED!! Obviously I love dragons so an ENTIRE sequel series to one of my fave series that’s focused on dragons will never miss in my book! I loved getting to spend new time with these characters I love and seeing new and fun twists come about

Fablehaven was one of my favorite fantasy series as a kid, so I of course had to check out the sequel series. From the first page, it felt like I was stepping back into this universe, as if I never left. It’s rare that I’m so easily immersed in a fantasy world, but Mull has a way with worldbuilding that renders his work impossible to resist. I’m very excited to read the other four books in the Dragonwatch series and see how they further expand the world of Fablehaven.

It was good, but not as phenomenal as I was expecting. I feel like too much happened in the beginning and then it slowed down. I also feel like thing were easier this time. I do still think it was amazing and really good, but not as good as some of his others. It, of course, shares similarities with the fourth book, which was one of my least favorites. I think if that book was amazing and your favorite you will love it so much, but if you're like me you'll enjoy it but may be left wanting a little more.
