This book is a very human take on the aftermath of the Ha My and My Lai massacres, blending legends, folk stories, and history to explore how those left after the massacre cope with what happened. Incredibly informative and deals with memory and trauma. It's a very heavy book though, so I recommend you take it slow--both to enjoy it and so you don't burn yourself out.
