Pretty good post apocolyptic zombie fiction. The series has a strong Christian theme. Works well.

STORY

Fast-paced, an adrenaline filled page turner! I loved it. Immediately intriguing and I enjoy the style of the books--covering so much but not much time passes. I knew I should've gotten the entire series at once, haha!

The story is well paced and full of twists and turns. A super great zombie series. Wow!

THEMES

This is what makes the series better than any zombie franchise out there--the THEMES. God is so prominent in these books. The Wolf Pack believe God has a reason and a place and that He cares... and it really impacts the perspective of the world going to hell. Hard, unfathomable decisions must be made, but God is always there.

I realllyyyy enjoy the themes. The brotherhood themes, importance of loyalty, and faith in God are ASTOUNDING.

CHARACTERS

The Pack are amazing and hilarious and aahhh, my boys. The way they deal with trauma and handle what happens is so realistic and encouraging... and heartbreaking. WOW.

You can't get attached to ANYONE but I DO ANYWAY. And only kinda regret it.

Solid, well-motivated, moving cast!

CONTENT

PG-13 or R. Swearing. Mentions of nudity. Lots of blood, gore, violence.

OVERALL

I NEED BOOK 3 I JUST NEED TO BUY THE COMPLETE SERIES WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME. SO GOOD.

Battleborn continues the theme from book 1, that sometimes, in a post-apocalyptic world, the humans can be worse than the zombies. We see in this story, the best and worst of human nature. But nobody is perfect. Our heroes struggle with difficult decisions and don't always agree.

One thing I liked in this book was how James and Conor and becoming more distinct characters, with their own personalities and differing opinions.

This book introduces a couple of extra characters (which you get to know in the prequel - Tanked) who are a welcome addition to the cast. The interplay between Tank and Chloe is pretty amusing.

The book climaxes with an explosive cliffhanger that leads directly into book three.
