This paranormal shifter based romance story is a very gripping and engaging read. As it is short, it was over before I realised but this was also thanks to the fast paced writing by the author.

Even though short, there is enough in this story to completely draw you into the environment and characters. All of which were great and make me hope for a follow up book as I would love to see how the characters develop and go on in the situation they are in.

This is not a lovey dovey romance story at all. It is rooted in primal need and want yet still has chemistry and a kind of charm to it.

I don't think I have read a book of this kind before and, if I have, I don't think it made quite the impact this one has. It wasn't a story I thought I would enjoy was was pleasantly surprised to find I was gutted it was over when I finished reading. I would definitely read more of this if it was a series and now have more of an interest in this particular genre.

The Alpha’s Pride by Deidre Huesmann is what I would consider a very short novel. I’ve always been into Paranormal – especially when it pertains to shifters. So to see that this book / novel was in relation to Lions Shifters, I was definitely curious.

The book jumps right into the storyline. We meet Val as she’s literally running for her life, being chased by a shifter. She doesn’t know what type of shifter the guy is – only that he’s dangerous. Unfortunately for her, he’s making a game out of this. What Val doesn’t know is that Riker (the shifter) is actually testing her. To make sure that she’s worth taking as a mate. In his eyes, she has to prove herself and her strength in order to survive.

Lucky for Val, she’s a pretty tough girl who doesn’t take crap from anyone and can defend herself.
I felt that the story was very, very short. We get through their little game and he introduces her to his pride. And although there is so intercourse, it was very short and quick – obviously claiming her. I just felt that the author could have done a lot more with this story.

Either way, it was a good, fun and interesting short read. And I’ll be more than happy to read more from this author, as this is the first book that I’ve ever ready by her.

I consider this a 4 star!

Alphas Pride (Blood Bonded) by Deidre Huesmann
Rated 4 stars
This is a short short story. Riker the alpha of the lion shifters has run across a women camping in his territory. He gives her a choice to be hunted and run or fight him.
Riker a dominant alpha shifter. He realizes Val as a potential blood bond but is unsure how his Pride will think of him taking a human mate. Can humans and shifters even be blood bonded? I almost think he was to be portrayed as more animal than human but I felt he was a good mix of both.
Val seems like a strong woman. I can see why she would be good for Riker. The issue with Lona I wish could have been explored a little bit more. Plus how Val was acclimating to the whole living in the woods...never seeing family again. She also made a couple comments about how her mother always said she should have been a lion shifter. What's that about?
This was a quick read and the writing flowed easily. All the characters seemed likable and have a lot of potential. Sadly this left me with a lot of questions to be answered

The Alpha’s Pride: Blood Bonded by Deidre Huesman
Deidre Huesman is a mastermind bringing both love and suspense together. The love affair between a shifter and human is a beautiful relationship. She says a lot in a short book. This is the first book and hopefully not the last in this wonderful; series. She grabs you with the first couple of sentences. Her writing style is a roller coaster right. It starts out going uphill building and building then she lets go and the rides moves quickly. This is one author I would check other stories.
Riker is an alpha shifter in his tribe. He is drawn to Val and is not sure why. The relationship he is having is not one of a sweet romance but an epic one. Riker shifts into a lion. He has all the characteristics of a lion. Val is a human and can be represented as a lamb. She has a way about her that makes Riker wants her for his mate. Val finds herself with a shifter who has her interested in this life style.
This story is a fast read and one that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend that you pay close attention to detail as you read this story. I can only hope that Huesman writes more stories for Riker and Val.

The Alpha's Pride (Blood Bonded Book 1) by Deidre Huesmann is a paranormal-shifter romance story. You will love how this author has created a story that will keep you engaged until the last word. She will pull you in from the first word. Her writing style is just as great as her characters. I also loved her attention to details as they made you feel like you were right there with the characters. These characters will take you on a journey between shifters and humans. Find out what happens when a shifter meets a human that just may be his mate for life.

Val is camping in the woods in shifter territory but will her over confidence leave her fighting for her life? The shifter is out to amuse himself, will it matter that she just doesn't want to play with him? Her problem is that the game has been set, she has no choice. What he offers her is that if she makes him bleed then she would be free to go but if he catches her first, then she is to die. He has every intent on killing her but the problem would be is that her smells could point to his potential blood mate. Are they prepared for a hunt that could change their lives forever?

These two characters together are great and really very compatible. Together they are hot and steamy. Will she prove her worth to the rest of the pack? Will he convince her to blood mate bonded with him? He is a strong alpha male that knows how to handle himself and he is gorgeous to top it off. She is very confident and knows what she wants and how to do get it. I loved that she was not afraid of him or the members of the pack. They will keep you reading until the last word and still wanting more. The secondary character is just as strong and is not afraid to make her opinion known. Will their be trouble for them? Will they bond to each other for life?

I am not sure how many books of Deidre Huesmann but this is my favorite yet. I can't wait to see what she does with this story next. I am just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more. Deidre works in her local shipyard, dressed all in safety gear and getting her hands dirty. When she isn't in the shipyard or writing you can usually find her catching up on her reading, kicking it with her children and playing video games. I loved how fast paced this story is. You will be at the end of this story before you even realize it. There is a few twists and turns that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat on minute and the next needing ice water. Find out what happens to these characters as they go on a journey of alpha males and human bonding.

The Alpha’s Pride by Deidre Huesmann is a wonderful, sexy, shifter romance with some drama and suspense.
Val finds herself in a life or death struggle with a shifter when she camps in shifter territory and is discovered by a powerful alpha. She is tough, strong, brave and determined- all rolled up in a snarky, sassy package. She is going to need every ounce of quick-thinking courage that she can muster, if she has any chance of making it through this challenging situation.
Riker is the king of his domain. The alpha to his group of shifters. He chanced upon the human woman camping on his territory and has decided that a game of cat and mouse is the order of the day. Her scent intrigues him and he finds it irresistible. If she can make it through his challenge, she may just be the one he has been looking for. This chance encounter may just change the course of human/shifter history.
This is a quick, easy read and has a lot going on in it for such a short story. It has definitely climbed to the top, as my favourite story by Ms. Huesmann. I would love to read a longer version of this tale, with more character information, backstory and details.
This is a fun, light-hearted and interesting read. As I have come to expect from Ms. Huesmann, it is really well written. The story is compelling, sexy and erotic.
I look forward to the next book from this talented author.

Thank you, Ms Huesmann!

The Alpha’s Pride is the first book in the Blood Bonded series by Deidre Huesmann. It is a very, very quick read but it kept me interested. I certainly would have liked to read more about these characters and would have liked it to be a full book story rather than the short one it is. It was well written and straight to the point.

Val finds herself at the mercy of a shifter but what will she choose? She soon finds herself in a game of life and death with a shifter who likes to play games. Will he stalk her and let her go if she wins or will she lose and face the consequences? Death!

Riker is enjoying his game, he loves the hunt, the thrill of chasing his prey. Will he let her live or will he kill her? What he does know is that she is different than any of the others he has faced, she is a fighter. Perhaps he will not kill her, perhaps she could end up more than he ever thought possible. Could she be what he has longed for?

If you are looking for a quick read and a taste of shifters then this is a book for you.

The Alphas Pride was a super cute and fun novella. It's light, which makes it a quick read, but it's also interesting.
