I remember reading this book series in middle school and loving it, so I decided to revisit as an adult. I listened to the audiobook and found the story to be just as fascinating as I did as a kid! I didn't remember all the specific details, but did remember that everyone had "demon" pets. The story of Lyra adventuring out on her own (with lots of help) to discover the answer to why local children are disappearing really captivated my attention. Also loved the armored bears that their loyalty. Will definitely be searching out the next book soon!

I remember the movie with Daniel Craig and was left confused. I like the HBO adaptation of it, so I thought I would go ahead and read the book. I am intrigued by the concept of daemons and can't wait to see the other worlds that are mentioned.

LOVE thsi series. Read once on my own and now reading to my 8 year old son. A LITTLE dark for eight but, complex plot and satisfying and exciting storyline!

I was listening to the audiobook and I found it fairly interesting. I think I'll try again and come back to it another time -- I got swept up in other more interesting reads.
