I should have DNF’d this, but the final 1/4 of the book hooked me, and the audiobook narration was decent. Otherwise, what a major letdown.

This book is weird and the Ending was so bizarr. I mean this in a good way. It was like watching a tv show, reading this book.

This is a book for weird little freaks. I LOVED it. I recommend to anyone who fucked with the movie Sorry To Bother You. So weird, uncomfortable, and funny. I am dying to see this as a movie and/or graphic novel!!

So so amazing omg. If you’ve seen infinity pool the feeling of watching that is the same feeling reading this book gives,  they both made me feel sick in the same way and if that is your vibe also I think you will love it!!! Maybe one of my favorite books ever now that I think about it idk. Definitely glad I got it up secondhand though because for whatever reason the author decided to use the r-slur in 2021 like bruh

I did not expect where this book went - the supernatural aspects really took me by surprise.
I liked how the author described social interactions. She really picked out tiny details that aren't really remarked on and highlighted them, which kept throwing me off in a good way.

Very few of the characters were likeable, but I think that was the point. The main character, Remy, was particularly unlikeable, and spends most of the book being a misogynistic and sometimes violent creep. It was an interesting choice to take The Worst Guy You Know and make him a protagonist.

The ending of the book made me pretty uncomfortable, because it felt like
the expected, violent conclusion to his stalking, which was depressingly realistic, and just very sad

I don't think I'd recommend this book, but I was interested to see where it went.

i love unlikeable main characters. it makes the read more unique and interesting. i was hoping for something different than what i got, i had a really good plot idea in my head. it’s a really weird take on parasocial relationships, but i liked it. the horror aspect was confusing and didn’t make sense. the ending was fine, i was happy it was over quick.
would of given it 5 stars if the the monster was a manifestation of alicia and remy’s shared obsession with jen, rather than just a random monster who has targeted people before. would have been more impactful idk. i’m tired i need to sleep
