Beyond my understanding that this is about the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis.... It would be an understatement to say I didn't get it. I can sense the impact it had on other science fiction writers of today, but I don't think it has aged particularly well (structure, pacing, language all very outdated). I want to like Delany's work because he's a wild man, so will have to give more of his books a try.
