I love faking dating and brooding MMCs who struggle with their emotions but this story just fell flat for me. I think it would have been much more compelling as a single pov so we find out about Jared’s issues with love along with Sarah. I also felt confused by her lack of understanding that Jared was into her especially since he lavished her with gifts before the fake dating began. It was a quick read, it just felt like the story didn’t quite mesh.

This book unfortunately was just not for me. I didn't connect to the characters and I didn't really root for them.

I just can't...
There's nothing I find appealing to go on ahead.
I didn't like anything about it - not the writing, the characters, the story..it all fell way off.

I'm going to be a bit more hesitant to pick this author in the future but since I've liked her books when I last read them a couple of years back...I'm still holding on to hope and will come back to read her books.

This is like every Lifetime-esque romance. Ordinary woman meets corporate, overworking man who she originally can’t stand. They banter back and forth and begrudgingly fall in love. There’s nothing particularly good or bad about it. You know what you’re getting and it’s an easy, light read.
