This is the exact kind of thriller I love! It reminded me of Saw in the way that there were specific people chosen and at the beginning, you had no way of knowing their connection to each other. I liked the way the book was broken into parts Nine through Zero as one person on the list was killed off, and then each part had a chapter dedicated to someone on the list or Sam Hamilton, the detective. It was a very enjoyable read and I didn't see the end coming.

This book was incredibly boring. I didn’t like any of the many characters and while I found the ending interesting it wasn’t enough to save the book.

Maybe this author just isn't for me.
The writing is okay but the story is very muddled and I just lost track of all the people.

Intricately plotted thriller referencing Agatha Christie novels. It had an intriguing premise and I enjoyed the references to various poets - love having the ability to branch off and discover new poems.
An easy read if a little unbelievable. The characters lacked enough depth to really draw me in.

It took quite a while to really start and to pull me in. But when it did, i couldn‘t put it down and finished the rest (more than half of it) in one day.
I loved how important details were mentioned from beginn on, but i realized that only way later and had to go back and i could slowly put it together. It really was an amazing book, so sad and horrible but so touching and sometimes beautiful. I was so happy to read a classic Peter Swanson book (because i didn‘t love his last two books that much).
I really recommend this book to anyone, who wan to read a nice crime that jeeps you guessing.
