I cannot describe how much I hate this book, and how angry it makes me. There is nothing endearing, or original, or surprising about this book. If you care at all about good literature, this book is not for you.

Camille Rowen is seventeen, and has happily spent much of her life aboard one of her father's ships. The time has come for her to marry, however, and so she and her father embark on one last trip from San Francisco to Sydney. There are problems from the start. Camille is troubled by her feelings for Oscar, one of her father's sailors, and her lack of feelings for Randall, her fiance. Her father is increasingly distant and secretive, and he changes their route partway through the voyage. When Camille discovers a mysterious letter from an impossible source, her father refuses to explain, and even Oscar won't tell her the entire truth. Then a terrible storm leaves Oscar and Camille stranded in Melbourne. Will she return to San Francisco and Randall, or make the perilous journey across Australia to finally discover the truth and, maybe, save her father?

Everlasting combines adventure with historical fiction and romance, and adds just enough magic to make things interesting. And though I quite liked the romance, it was the adventure that I most enjoyed, from dangerous storms at sea to terrifyingly large spiders. Throughout, Camille is torn between respecting her father's wishes and following her own desires. Everlasting is an excellent read, and went straight to my list of 2010 Favorites. I can't wait to find out what my students think about it.

This book was certainly a great read. Angie Frazier has definetly wrote a great book here as she has included fiction and non fiction in the same story. This was really mindblowing has there was so much shocking discoveres made by the main characters and also a lot of tearful chapters but also chapter which were just lovely.

I can not believe their isn't much hype about this book! Everlasting was a great read. Angie did and excellent job tying in just the right amount of romance, mystery, and adventure. This novel will keep you on the edge of your seat, and flipping pages as fast as you can!

Camille is a very likable character. She doesn't care what people think about her. She just wants to so what she loves, which is sailing the blue oceans. Oscar is just oh so dreamy! And he has a past! :0 I loves Camille's and Oscar's relationship. It didn't just jump right into their romance, like most books now-a-days do. Their relationship was slowly built up from years of friendship. I loved Ira! A smart mouthed, quick witted, Australian. You can't help but love him.

The cover is beyond words beautiful! To be honest this is what caught my attention for this book. The light blue and purple go together perfectly.

Fans of historical fiction, romance, mystery, and/or suspense read Everlasting! I just found out that their is going to be a sequel! AHHH! It's called Eternal Sea!

I was surprised at how much I liked this novel!

There were a lot of things I liked about this book, and once I got into it I plowed through it really fast. There wasn't any downtime when the plot wasn't moving forward, and the characters all had great chemistry.

The magic/treasure map part of the plot was silly and unnecessary to me. I wish they'd left that out and just had them trying to get home after the shipwreck be the main plotline. I don't think that part of the story was written very well, and I didn't find it compelling in the slightest.

It is the characters that carry this story. Camille is an interesting character, and the journey (meaning mentally and emotionally) that she takes isn't an easy one. She finds a lot out about her family's past that shocks her. Thank goodness she has Oscar to help her along.

Speaking of Oscar: he is the real reason I enjoyed the book as much as I did. He is the most fleshed-out and interesting character by far, and I loved him. He was so capable and alluring: I dare you to read this book and not have a thing for him.

So, I had some mixed feelings about this one. Overall though, I have to say that I enjoyed it. It isn't a book I'll ever read again but I'm not sorry I picked up a copy from the library to read.

When I first heard about Angie Frazier's debut novel, it didn't even have a cover. All that I knew about the novel was from the short description listing on GoodReads, but I was drawn to the story. To be honest, the description strongly reminded me of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, which left me intrigued. I'm happy to report that EVERLASTING lived up to my expectations... and actually was a bit like the movie..

I'm usually not a fan of historical YA. Generally, the pace moves too slowly and fails to hold my attention, but EVERLASTING triumped where so many others failed. I'll admit to my attention wavering in a couple spots, but I was quickly pulled back in. Most of the time, once I've lost interest, I can't bring myself to return to the novel, so it's impressive that Frazier could recapture my attention. I think the adventure - and Frazier's inclusion of magic and romance - added excitement and remedied the issues I usually experience with this type of novel.

Oscar and Camille's relationship was definitely the aspect I found most memorable. I'm always drawn to forbidden relationships, especially if they're filled with tension and longing looks. I loved their scenes together!

Frazier has succeeded in writing a tale of epic adventure and romance! It pains me that after waiting months to read EVERLASTING, I'm now waiting (again!) to read its sequel.
