This book was stunning, yet so so brutal. Simple in its writing, yet clear and concise in its portrayal of how dehumanising war is. A beautiful book that is touching in its harshness.

These books are incredible, but you must read them all together/at the same time. There are some really fascinating narrative twists that pay off big time. Nothing was quite what I expected…it was so much more and handled with such deftness/skill. Unremittingly bleak and hopeless, these books force you to look at the human cost of war and revolution. Highly fucking recommended.
