I've started and stopped writing a review for this several times now. I've ultimately decided not to go into too many details. I'll keep it simple and say that this book just didn't click with me most of the time. The story is fine. Rainbow Rowell is cool. I get the popularity of both this book and the author. I just never felt connected to the story, and it honestly was a little too melodramatic at times. Most of the characters were pretty flat, too, and felt more like stereotypes than people. But, it was a pretty entertaining book with a unique setting and story which is why I am cool with giving it three stars. It also has way too many flaws for me to give it anything higher than that.

I'll also go on record as saying Attachments is a much better book.

3.5 This was enjoyable. A cute yet sad story. Some parts of it were just average and a little lackluster for me.

My school has reading competitions and this book was on the list. During the actually competition my teachers asked us what books were amazing. Someone mentioned Eleanor and Park. My one teacher already read it and described it as "it makes you go back and think about your first love and how sweet and innocent it was." That was a month ago, and now I have read it. I personally really liked this book. I have a feeling that if you have already experienced that First Love feeling then you can relate to this book and think back on sweet times.
