Crikey what a long book. A good read but it could use a trim. I really enjoyed the sociological implications of building new societies. Wasn't mad about the theological stuff but it made sense within the universe of the Dark Tower, of which this novel is a part. A somewhat dated depiction of women, except perhaps Dayna.

As much as I love [author: Stephen King], this book scared the holy living piss out of me. I seriously had to stop, and then when I get having CLOWN nightmares, I had to read the very end so that I could find out it was a GIANT SPIDER. The only thing worse than a clown that EATS PEOPLE is a GIANT SPIDER IN A CLOWN SUIT. At least they killed it.
