I wouldn’t say that this book is a romance- more like women’s fiction, but I wholly enjoyed it!

Ben and Lili met one day and fell head over heels in love. Because of different things they had going on in their lives they agreed to meet back in the same place one year in the future. A year later only one of them shows up. Then, five years later a woman who seems to be suffering from amnesia shows up in Ben’s small hometown wearing the same necklace that Ben gave Lili all those years ago. She looks a little like Lili, but there are enough differences to make Ben think he is wrong. As he takes her under his wing and tries to help her remember her past a lot of things come to light that explain what happened to her.

I thought this book did a pretty good job of showing a toxic relationship that was severely abusive, but not physically. There were certain aspects there that reminded me of Behind Closed Doors.

As a violinist myself (my violin’s name is Bob), this one HURT. IYKYK.
