Eh. This was fine. The advertising was a bit misleading--it's not very centered around the holidays. Overall, the dialogue was stale at parts if not outright cringe. Some of the emotional beats felt well done and authentic to the characters, the problem was the characters: Dee was outwardly hostile to her employees in a truly off-putting way and (though I feel deep ambivalence about this term!) Austen was as close to a Mary Sue you could get in an office romance.  So while there was growth and a believable arc, I just didn't really care.

This romance was so adorable and everything I needed! Also, it took one of my least favorite tropes (boss and subordinate dating) and actually addressed the power dynamics!!! I was rooting for Austen and Dee through the entire book!

Enjoyable. Didn't catch the Conflict of Interest connection until the end. However, had just read Tropical Storm and it really really reminded me of that. A lot. So it came off very unoriginal.
