Oh my lord. This book was amazing! The characters were as vicious as ever, there were so many plot twists and betrayals that I actually screamed at parts

Okay so maybe I like Carden just a little bit now. That ending though, I need to know what comes next.
It took a while for things to get moving and when it did, it got interesting and definitely better than the first book. The characters are developed a bit more.

Im just really not connecting with any of the characters other than Jude, I find myself reading and thinking “who cares?” And the romance is trash, this hate you but still kissing you whenever I can is cringe worthy and I keep rolling my eyes.
I think I’m just not connecting with Holly Blacks writing style, I also tried the audio book and that was even worse, narrator read Judes tone as a whinging teenager 90% of the time.
I have just read “The traitor queen” by Danielle Jensen and that was epic enemies to lovers so this series is just falling flat and reading very childish in comparison.
I will drag myself through the last book in this series because I’ve come this far I guess.
