Trigger warnings for - off scene implications of the main character being gang assaulted and raped by some of the men in her pack before the events of the novella take place
Alpha and Omega is a short story by Patricia Briggs, it's the first story in her "Alpha & Omega" series about wolf shifters. This story is chronologically book number 0.5 in the "Alpha & Omega" series.
I really wanted to like this story, I have an issue with the harsh treatment Ana was forced to go through before the events of this book. Ana and Charles are very cute together. I'll suspend my disbelief and accept that they fell for each other very quickly becausethey're fated mates .
I also wanted to pay attention and make sure that the author wasn't being insensitive in any way while writing an Indigenous man character (Charles).
There is no spice in this novella. The two main characters talk about sex but there's no spice anywhere to be found, heads up.
Overall I enjoyed this novella, but I knocked a few stars off becauseI hated Leos justification of allowing Ana to be raped by several male members of the pack so he could appease his fucking wife. That part of the story was shit.

Audiobook Review.
Quick and enjoyable read. Vital if you plan to read Cry Wolf. Check content warnings!
This is OG Omegaverse, but don't go in expecting smut. It's literally just urban fantasy with werewolves who are divided into Alphas and Omegas.
The narrator was excellent. One of the rare male narrators I've listened to who did great with the female POV character.

Moderate: Gun violence and Violence
Minor: Rape, Kidnapping, and Murder
Misogyny from secondary characters. There is both on-page physical fighting and gun violence, as well as mention of it, but nothing more graphic than brief description.Rape, Murder, Kidnapping:
