Definitely read a breakdown of the previous flesh and fire novel before diving into this one because you might be loss for a couple chapters.

I LOVED this, Ash is just so god damn mouth watering. His inability to love but his constant protection over the ones he cares about, especially Sera. Daddy Nyktos 🫦 the tension between Sera and Ash was toe curling and I really liked their dynamic. Also also !!! How cute Ash was with all the tiny things he did to make Sera feel seen, including the freakin mini lake he made below his kingdom 😭

Other fav characters were cutie little Reaver-butt and Jadis. HATED characters were Verses or whatever her shit name was and obvs Kolis - Attes can go fck himself too.

This book left off on a huge cliffhanger and I cannot wait until I start the next book🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Oh, my, wow. Sometimes I really think that no one can top Sarah J Mass when it comes to fantasy, but then I read one of Jennifer L Armentrout's books and really question who the real queen of spicy fantasy is. I could not put this book down. And because of this, I freaking adored how long it was. And now I have to wait MONTHS for the third book?? AFTER THAT ENDING?! Dear lord...I am so tempted to reread From Blood and Ash series just so I can fully drown myself into this amazing world and forget about my real life. There are just so many wonderful, beautiful, creative, sexy, funny, laughing out loud, jaw dropping moments in this book that I cannot even begin to list everything I loved about this book. I just loved it all okay. Let's just leave it there, there wasn't a thing I did not like. I love love love love how focused it was on Sera really finding herself. Overcoming so many realistic obstacles. I have never ever read a fantasy book that directly talks about anxiety/depression. I have never felt more included while reading something. And the fact that Sera is not some basic looking girl??? YES. Fates, I just want someone to threaten others for me the way Ash does for Sera.

That god damn prohpecy though...so poetic, so majest, so well thought out. GOD I LOVE READING.

The book gave me so many emotions!!

The start, they were to be somewhere happy and maybe you can see where Nyktos could say “I love you” but no JLA had other plans.

Veses is a dirty!! Nyktos is a bitch for what he did to our girl Sera instead of telling her the truth, but I understand where it comes from in the end.

Callum, I sick of him being brought up! He needs to go to the pits!!

zoo wee mama!

i will admit that it was a bit hard to keep up with the lore, mainly because it’s been months since i read the first book. i also feel like some scenes in this instalment draggedddddddd, which is never really what you want to experience in a sequel.

but for the most part, i really enjoyed it! the romance was lovely, sera and nyktos’ chemistry was like a breath of fresh air, and that ending was fucking insane!!! i don’t know how i’m gonna be able to wait out the next book after going through all of that. i just want to see my babies happy and in love, is that really too much to ask for?
