I enjoyed this book for the most part. However, Grace's chapters added no substance and the audible narrator for her was annoying. I enjoyed Maggie's portions very much.

As a youngster, I was always intrigued with the Titanic, and the individuals that had been on the ill-fated ship. As a result of my interest, I always tried to read both fiction and non-fiction accounts relating to the event, showing interest in the lives of those onboard. This novel was no exception, as it related specifically to a group of women from Ireland that were actually passengers on the Titanic itself. This book focused specifically on Maggie, as she sailed from Ireland to New York with her aunt, beginning a new life in the United States after her mother passed away. As Maggie navigates the ship during her time onboard, we are introduced to other individuals from her group, whom are given storylines of their own, despite them being minor. As the author described the sinking of the ship itself, I was moved by the events that took place, picturing how the ship looked once it had hit the iceberg. Once Maggie describes her arrival in New York, I am at a loss for the feelings harboured by all of those whom lost loved ones upon the ship. Although it was an event which took place over one-hundred years ago, it felt as though it were recent, with the immense loss of life being a difficult situation to fathom. Overall, the author painted a beautiful portrait of life upon the Titanic, highlighting the intricacies of the sinking itself, giving a vivid description of what it would truly have been like to be aboard the ill-fated liner.

Overall all I thought this was a decent portrayal of the events surrounding the sinking of Titanic. The interconnected stories of Maggie and her great-grandaughter Grace help to bring the emotions of the characters full circle. The writig was very good but at the same time could get repetative in some spots.

I wanted to like this more than I did. It was fine, but wouldn’t consider it a must-read

I was hoping for a lot more out of this book. I really like Titanic so when I came across this book I was extremely excited. Sadly, it was disappointing. The first 200 pages or so took forever to get through because they couldn't hold my attention. The last 100 or so we're okay, but again kind of a let down. I was hoping for a lot more out of this book. I really was.

Mesmerizing and beautifully written—couldn’t put it down!

It’s been a long time since a book has moved me to tears, but this incredible story had me bawling. I became so invested in the characters and their stories, so much so that I ended up researching the lives of the real Addergoole 14 as I read.

Based on the Addergoole 14, this story is poignant, haunting, and so moving. It is beautifully written and had me cheering and bawling by the end. This one goes down as one of my top favorite books of 2024 so far! Highly recommend!!

I enjoyed this book. It was well written and the author gave special attention to the characters. I'd have liked it if there had been more adventures on board of the Titanic. I felt like the ship sank a bit too soon in the book. The book was predictable and I knew how it would end, despite that I liked it.
