I finished this book in a couple hours, I do not feel like it was “slow paced” as it’s categorized. I hated reading from Lewis’s perspective, he’s super boring- but I also get why his perspective was important to the story. It was fine, I guess?
I wish that for such a *heavy* plot it had a little more character development & soul. It felt more like reading someone else’s story about a horrible thing than actually feeling it from inside the cellar- from the girl’s perspectives. Like there was so much blood, gore, assault, & shock value on top that it didn’t bother diving any deeper. I wanna know more about the girls, we get summer’s perspective of living with them for nearly a full year & still know almost nothing about them.

Honestly this book was really really good. It may be the fact that I finished it at 1 in the morning but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It's the type of book that makes me afraid to walk to the bathroom in the dark and that it something that I love.

This book may have some major plot holes and grammar errors, and yeah, it read like a wattpad book, but I still loved it. The characters were well built in my opinion, and I loved the flashbacks and the insight that I was given with them like
Rose is Shannen, the girl Clover wanted to marry
. I enjoyed seeing what was happening with the other people and what had happened to lead up to everything. I felt as though I really knew the a lot of the characters and understood why they were did what they were doing. The one thing that I wish I could've had was more of her relationship with her family, not just her boyfriend but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Overall:

goods:
- characters
- thriller aspect
- psychological aspect that become apparent as I read
- multiple points of view
- flashbacks from multiple characters

bads:
- plot holes
a pocket knife can't kill someone by stabbing them once....

- grammar issues, but it wasn't horrid
- how mental health was discussed
"No one's that OCD" ummm yeah they can be actually

Overall I would rate this a solid 4.5
