This was just mediocre. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. The bad guy and his reasonings were such a cliche. However, it's a cliche for a reason. I just wish that Preston had done something different or more original.

I didn't really like the FMC Summer. She was really judgmental about other girls and how they chose to deal with this situation. She was pretty useless, either crying or thinking about Lewis.

I liked that we got Clover's POV, but it would have been better if we got more of him with his mother and what caused him to do this. It was explained, but I would have liked to see more flashback moments.

The ending was pretty bland. This would have been a perfect opportunity to end on Clover's POV about trying to escape. Or a flash future moment where Summer reads a newspaper article where he does escape. Just something more thrilling instead of boring.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book up until the ending. The characters were intriguing and easy to call in love with. It was realistic enough to be truly terrifying. Unfortunately that realism is a huge contributor to the ending being trash.
How the discovery of the girls was handled in a completely realistic fashion ruined it for me. I wanted bigger and more romantic, not the cops coming in before he kills the main character and everything going black.

I wish I could give more thoughts, but I read it a long time ago and when i was like 16. I just remember flying through the book, enjoying reading it, and realizing its a bit crazy. It started on wattpad and at that age I loved wattpad so my taste was not great.

Skimmed through after page 50. Slow pacing. Weird time/perspective jumps. Didn't like the writing style.

i felt so uncomfortable and dirty reading this, as if i was there with the girls. Clover is completely utterly revolting and disgusting and everything he thinks and says just shows how sick of a person he is. the book was so gripping but i just didn’t want to subject myself to the harm of continuing
