This weirdly felt like the first instalment in a series as not much actually occurs in terms of character or plot, it was mainly just elaborately setting the stage for future action to occur. Yet the developments regarding Bingtown, the Outislands, the Piebalds, and the Skill were all super intriguing and definitely enough to keep me hooked. I especially loved the exploration of the Wit in terms of its persecution. The book also had some satisfying series pay-off moments. I just hope the third instalment packs more of a punch!
