I loved Hildafolk! The art work is great. The story is simple, but adorable. Some might find the story too simple or too slow, but for me it strengthened the sense of whimsy. Something about it feels reminiscent of The Little Prince and the Moomintroll series.

this is such a cute comic.
My little brother, Caleb, and i love the Netflix series, so i picked up the first 5 issues. The characters’ appearances vary from panel to panel, but the story carries everything so who cares! i love the pacing and the little details tacked on to build the world. i want to learn more about Hilda’s deerfox, i hope it comes up in the next few issues!

i think i like this art style more than the Netflix series because it’s more angular and the colors are a lot more muted. i also think her portrayal in this as a stubborn adventurous-wannabe (that hopefully evolves into an adventurer) is much more interesting than her portrayal in the series. She’s a little too competent in the series, it doesn’t portray Hilda growing. She’s ready to start straight from the jump in episode one. i’m excited to see where this comic series goes!

Hilda is a young adventurer who loves to read, draw, and explore her woodland surroundings with her pet fox, Twig. During her latest adventure, Hilda discovers that trolls may not be the creatures of myth she's read about.

Fun story. Artwork felt grounded in earthy tones. Probably won't read the others in the series.
