I love a good graphic novel and this one with DnD theme was great for me!

This Comic really has some kick-ass ladies, funny moments and good action.
The autor managed to create interessting female characters, far away from the standard, with different shapes and personalities.

But the story... the plot is very underdeveloped and quite flat, without much foundation. I got quite bored by the start and had to read it again because I wasn't really paying attention. It's getting better to the end but it didn't manage to catch my full attention.

Overall I liked it, the characters are cool, good action, charming humor and some nice art.

I'm about to finish Saga, which I love, and this was recommended.

It's no Saga.

Honestly, it took me way too long to get my hands on this masterpiece.

Funny, witty, whimsical, and raunchy, Rat Queens certainly deserves the excited praise and recommendation. I hope vol 2 is just as wonderful.

The first 1-3 issues collected in this volume almost turned me off from reading this series. At first I thought there was virtually no plot, and the characters were unlikable. It read a bit like, someone who has heard that nerds are in now and has a vague idea of RPG's decided to mix that stereotyped knowledge with a bunch of other popular genre things and hope that makes the book sell.

But then... thing really picked up. The interpersonal relations between characters get more interesting and the fantasy fighting stuff becomes, while central to plot development, more of a backdrop than character development.

By the end, I was hooked enough to want to read the second trade volume, which I actually liked even more than the first. I'm definitely going to continue reading this series!

This was fantastic and I will definitely be continuing with this! D&D but make it gay! Betty has my entire heart and soul! The art style is beautiful and the story is action packed, but in a way that you still love the characters and get attached to them.
