I enjoyed this. It wasn’t my favourite book in this series but it was different to what I usually read. I’m not entirely sold on some of the content but I did get into it. The taboo element of it worked well for me, and the chemistry between Garrett and Mia was really hot. I will say some of the sex scenes weren’t as well-written as others I’ve read by this author but it was still really fun and steamy.

I thought the plot was a bit dragged out and the mental health aspect disappointed me as it felt rushed and tacked on at the end. It was such a big topic and a huge part of Garrett’s character, but I think it could have been worked into the story better. He recovered from it very quickly and whilst it was nice to see he finally began therapy and medication for it, I felt like the book could have explored his decision to go for that better. I also could have done with less references to him knowing her as a child? I know that’s a part of the taboo, but it felt very weird to focus in on it so much. I think the age gap could have been tweaked and the book would have worked a lot better.

Aspects of this book weren’t really my cup of tea but I found it an engaging read, the angst worked well and the romance was solid and entertaining.

This was hot. Like hot, hot. Taboo romance between step siblings with an age gap (23 FMC, 36 MMC). Good balance of spice and plot.

FMC is a virgin and this is something that often bothers me in books (when she’s a virgin but she’s a slut for him, or he opens her eyes to the wonders of sex), but it worked well in this book because she’s not a prim and proper girl just waiting for a man to awaken this sexual side of her. She’s a camgirl, she’s already very sexual, and she’s done sexual things with others, she just hasn’t crossed that final line. And the fact he’s been celibate for 10 years also works well with this.

Jakby twoja wewnętrzna burza ucichła. Właśnie tego chciałam dla ciebie przez całe życie.”  Przed nami druga część serii „Salacious Players Club”. Po bardzo dobrej „Pochwale” przychodzi jeszcze lepszy „Podglądacz”, gdzie Sara Cate porusza tematy, które stworzyły naprawdę przepiękną i prawdziwą historię. Mamy różnicę wieku (trzynaście lat), motyw przybranego rodzeństwa (tak tylko przypominam, że bohaterów nie łączą więzy krwi, są dla siebie obcymi osobami, których rodzice się pobrali); współwłaściciela sekslubu i dziewczynę rozbierającą się przed kamerką oraz motyw choroby. Garrett Porter to mężczyzna po trzydziestce, który wraz z przyjaciółmi założył Salacious. Na pierwszy rzut oka widzimy przystojnego, zabawnego mężczyznę, który z pewnością nie ma problemów z kobietami. Gdy wejdziemy do jego głowy, odkryjemy, że Garrett stworzył swój wizerunek, by toczyć swoją walkę w samotności. Przez kompletny przypadek trafia na stronę, gdzie odkrywa, że jego młodsza, przybrana siostra rozbiera się przed kamerą. To wydarzenie daje początek dość burzliwej i skomplikowanej relacji naszych bohaterów. Mia Harris ma dwadzieścia trzy lata i jest zagubiona. Nie wie, co chciałaby i mogłaby robić, dlatego odnalazła się jako camgirl. To daje jej poczucie kontroli, którego nie doświadcza w życiu realnym. Odkąd jej ojciec ożenił się z matką Garretta, relacja ze starszym przybranym bratem jest ciężka, gdyż ten przez większość czasu traktuje ją jak rozpieszczoną smarkulę. To wzbudza w niej skrajne uczucia, bo tak naprawdę, dziewczyna od paru lat się w nim podkochuje. Ta historia zapewniła mi chyba wszystkie możliwe emocje. Garrett i Mia to duet, który nawet milcząc, stwarza iskry. Książka jest napisana w taki sposób, że jednocześnie kochamy naszych bohaterów i im kibicujemy, a z drugiej strony rozumiemy to, co ich blokuje. Rozdziały to zazwyczaj naprzemienna perspektywa Garretta i Mii, przez co możemy dokładnie widzieć, jak zmienia się ich relacja. Widzimy, co kieruje Porterem. Wiemy, jaki chaos ma w głowie i jak bardzo jest zagubiony. Bo przecież Mia nie dość, że jest jego przybraną siostrą, to jeszcze jest młodsza, on sam jest świadom swojej choroby i tego, jaki ma ona wpływ na jego życie, a wisienką na torcie jest tajemnica, która po odkryciu przez Mię, może zakończyć tę relację. No i nie zapominajmy o tym, że Garrett od dziesięciu lat nie był z kobietą. Pogodził się z tym, że jest voyeurystą i woli podglądać innych (oczywiście za ich zgodą) niż sam brać udział w czynnościach seksualnych. I chociaż znajdziemy tutaj sporo scen 18+, to wszystkie napisane są ze smakiem i są też ważnym elementem fabuły. Ale nie najważniejszym, bo czytając historię Garretta i Mii widzimy, że chociaż jest między nimi mnóstwo pożądania, to nie łączy ich tylko seks. Mają swoją niewytłumaczalną więź, która sprawia, że obydwoje czują się ze sobą dobrze. Przed prologiem mamy słowo od autorki, które powinniście przeczytać. Już bowiem w nim dowiadujemy się, że jeden z bohaterów cierpi na depresję. Choroba dotyka Garretta i jakkolwiek dziwnie to zabrzmi, to cieszy mnie to, że to mężczyzna jest chory, bo w większości książek, to zazwyczaj bohaterka boryka się z chorobą. A tutaj możemy zobaczyć jak z tą sytuacją radzi sobie albo i nie, mężczyzna, który walczy z depresją w samotności. Jeżeli jeszcze nie czytaliście tej serii, to bardzo ją wam polecam.

Liked the first one better but this one was great too. The step sister trope is not my thing.
Loved that deepnes of the mental health topic and the fact that the mental issues are not blamed for developing the kink. Spicy and amazing book.
