This novel does a great job at capturing what it’s like to be a teenager in today’s fast paced world. Through the multiple viewpoints we get from the different characters’ narration, the story is experienced in a variety of ways, as each of the young adults filter this escapade in their own right. From the United Kingdom to Spain, this book follows Johnny, George, and Lara on a tumultuous adventure as they aim to find out who they really are, and what they really want, only to lose themselves repeatedly as the plot strives on. Norris has a skill at writing in the contemporary genre, succeeding at creating a book that explores youth culture, and what young people are really looking for. He has a great knack for dialogue especially, as the words his characters string together are real, raw, and utterly revealing. As the cover of this book suggests, this is a hip, cool, colorful, and engaging novel.
