Love Beth May’s work.
Her poetry is gorgeous and catches my attention and holds it more than most poetry i’ve read. She has an excellent mix of crude relatability and devastating vulnerability throughout and it somehow keeps catching me off guard in either direction every time.

Poetry is simply not my forte. I find it hard to focus on and understand what the author is saying. However, this mixed media style stuck out to me and held my attention quite well. A few poems from the collection really hit me!

I know Beth May as a hilarious podcaster, but while reading this book I saw a completely different side to her. It was so interesting to hear May in a different forum, sharing thoughts that do not necessarily need to be funny but interweaving her humor as she pleases. Her poems were poignant, impactful, heartfelt, and diverse. I can't wait to read more from her.

Wow. Just, wow. I'm not normally a poetry person, but the way this collection made me feel is truly indescribable.

May captures intense feelings and experiences and presents them to make you feel those some intense feelings. There were several times I had to pause and step way in order to collect myself. She evokes real feelings in an uncomplicated way.

May has helped me in my growing appreciation for poetry. I hope she writes more, and I will be watching her readings online!
