I just— I LOVED this series.
Aaron Warner is actually the love of my life. I feel for him so vehemently it truly is concerning. I also love Kenji and Juliette and Nazeera - the characters and their journeys are just unmatched.

4.5⭐️ this book was so fun! I loved that it was Kenji and Juliette’s POV. I’m sad the series is pretty much over… I feel like I’m gonna be in a big reading slump once I finish the last novella.

Originally thought about giving this book 4 stars but honestly the ending and epilogue was pretty anticlimactic.
I liked the tension int he beginning and middle -- Juliette not remembering and following Anderson around. However this part lasted a bit TOO long in my opinion, I wanted her "rescued" faster and more to actually happen in the book. I also didn't particularly like the "master" situation. She's a kid at the end of the day and it grossed me the hell out. Anderson supposedly didn't want Juliette liking him but does creepy shit like that?
I also have a lot of unanswered questions. Who found Juliette in the forest? What really happened with Warner's mom? (plot point or just gone?), is Anderson for real dead this time? What happened with Adam?
This book -- like most of the series -- feels unnecessarily long especially when plot points keep being introduced but aren't fleshed out or resolved.
Also -- book 6 and only Warner POV is the whatever epilogue? Why? This series kind of reads like a random train of thought... I don't particularly like the writing. I sometimes like where the story takes me, but I'm always left feeling a little confused. Like the characters and everyone just "know things" and me, the reader, is left in the dark -- but in a bad way.
I did like the Juliette x Warner showdown.
Quotes:
"I told her that your anger was a defense mechanism, and that you couldn't help that you were born to an abusive father. I told her that in your heart, you're a good person, and that you don't want to hurt anyone. Not really." - Castle
"I want to hurt people all the time. Sometimes I can't sleep at night because I'm thinking about all the people I'd like to murder." - Warner
"You know my name. You've always known me, love. I've always known you. And I'm so -- I'm so desperately in love with you." - Warner

I loved this ending! While the two main installments previous to this book were starting to feel old and tired, I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Shatter Me world. My love for Warner is back now too.

So this book was not my favorite in the series. It did tie everything up nicely but it felt unnecessary...? Idk I was in a very blech mood while reading it which impacted my enjoyment of it. There was a sentence that mentioned James’ powers but nothing else. He also wasn’t a big part of it which made me really sad. I did like that we got to see almost everything from Kenjis POV but I wish Juliette/Ella didn’t describe Anderson as being super handsome, it made me really uncomfortable and it felt odd. Idk it just felt jumbled but I will probably do a reread of the whole series in like six months so we will see how we feel at that point haha
